Dine Around the Scottish Borders 05 in association with VisitScotland

Sixteen of the top restaurants in the Scottish Borders took part in a unique marketing initiative as part of the fifth annual food festival The Borders Banquet which ran from October 28th to November 6th. In a first for the region, the restaurants came together for "Dine Around Borders", a new promotion that offered diners a three course meal for just £15 per person with a complimentary dram of Glenfiddich single malt whisky included in the price. Many of the participating establishsments set up special menus focusing on Borders produce throughout the event.

Borders Banquet organiser Catherine Tuff said; "We're confident that this will be an extremely popular initiative. We have some wonderful restaurants in the region serving fantastic food made from the finest local produce. This initiative aims to spread the word about the region's fine dining by providing a great value meal offer for the duration of the event which will hopefully encourage people to get out and about and sample some restaurants in the region that they may not normally visit. The food and drink industry is becoming increasingly important to the Borders economy and we hope that our Dine Around Borders initiative will help to promote all of our wonderful eating out establishments by showcasing the great value and quality that can be found in the region."
